Warehouse and Distribution Manager / Logistics Manager

The Role – Warehouse and Distribution Manager / Logistics Manager
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you’ll be responsible for circa 25 permanent employees across Zest Warehouse and Distribution teams. You will manage processes, budgets and people to deliver an efficient service to B2B and B2C customers that meets KPI’s and builds brand reputation. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* Diligently monitoring and reviewing haulage and courier services to maximise load fill and improve delivery performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs, product limitations and carbon footprint reduction targets
* Sourcing, securing and implementing packaging solutions which are consistent with Zest brand values, particularly with regard to environmental sustainability
* Proactively engaging with colleagues across the business, particularly supply chain and sales teams, to maximise warehouse storage capacity efficiently in line with forecast and seasonal fluctuations
* Ensuring Quality Control processes are robustly implemented to ensure all stock is received, stored, and maintained in optimum condition
* Working closely with the Operations Analyst, use SAP B1, Produmex and other business systems to actively monitor business performance, analyse logistical problems, and provide accurate and timely reports to the Directors
* Planning and managing change effectively, leading a culture of continuous improvement
* Leading, coaching and developing your people, ensuring they are fully trained within their roles and acting consistently with our values
* Leading on health and safety within your area of responsibility, ensuring all areas under your direct control comply are compliant with current legislation and working safely
The Package
* A salary in the region of £40,000 to £45,000 with the starting level dependent on experience
* Permanent contract working sociable hours (42.5 hours per week)
* 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) rising to 36 days with length of service

Our Requirements
* Experience gained in a similar operational warehouse and distribution role, ideally working with short lead times and seasonal variation
* Experience motivating and developing teams with an inspirational approach and the ability to develop a culture of success and innovation
* Financially aware, capable of making commercially informed decisions and driving efficiency
* Experience across both trade and e-commerce environments
* Solid grounding in providing effective transport solutions and maximising load fill
* Passion for environmental sustainability
* Working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems (SAP Business 1 and Produmex ideally)
* Superb communication skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach
* Logical, strategic thinker who isn’t shy of being hands-on to inform business improvement
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
