Transport Manager – Manufacturing – Wrexham – Up to £45,000
About the Company
I am currently looking for a Transport Manager in Wrexham for a leading poultry feed manufacturer based in Wrexham.
As Transport Manager you will lead the transport team to ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery and collection of finished products and raw materials in order to deliver business objectives.

GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
A Level/Higher grade pass in English and Maths preferred.
Transport Manager CPC or equivalent preferred.
Working knowledge of Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive Legislation.
Strong experience of leading a team in a similar role.
Works effectively as part of a team and collaboratively with other operational areas to meet increasing productivity and quality target Transport Manager  – Responsibilities
Lead and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislation and aligned to best practice.
Lead the transport team, driving consistently excellent performance to deliver KPI’s for Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.
Promote an inclusive culture, focussing on employee engagement in order to deliver business objectives.
Deliver a high performing team, setting targets, undertaking regular appraisals.
Dealing with absence, capability and disciplinary matters.
Motivate and support the team by encouraging professional development and providing consistent feedback.
Manage the transport scheduling, planning delivery schedules in accordance with driver’s hours to maximise utilisation of company resources.
Ensure the transport fleet is run within the Operator Licence Guidelines to ensure compliance with current road haulage legislation and company policy and procedures.
Liaise with the Mill production team to ensure amendments or cancellations of orders are carried out accurately and efficiently, enabling full customer satisfaction.
Ensure hygiene requirements of the vehicles are met to prevent a negative impact on quality standards.
Assess requirements and co-ordinate with other operational areas to allocate resources to meet changing business and customer needs.
Liaise closely with Mill Management and key functions to effectively support management and co-ordination of transport related duties within team.
Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure the efficient flow of information so all internal and external requirements are met.
Complete all relevant documentation relating to each day’s work to ensure compliance with current road haulage legislation and company policy and procedures.
Ensure vehicle defects are rectified in an efficient manner to minimise downtime and ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy and legal condition.
Drive continuous improvement, leading CI performance teams reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve the sites efficiency, safety, quality and performance.
Lead or support group wide projects and initiatives to deliver company strategic objectives. About Us
