Shift Manager (No Weekends)

Full Time Permanent

The company, a long established but successful and growing manufacturing business are seeking a Shift Manager to work from their modern site in Wrexham.

You may have experience in the roles of the core competencies below, however specific industry is not essential, but they are seeking someone who is a good people person, someone who raises standards and motivates others to do the same.
The company operate shift patterns Monday – Friday 6.00a.m-2.00p.m, 2.00p.m-10.00p.m, 10.00p.m-6.00a.m
Purpose of the role
* Working closely with the Shift Manager Team to effectively manage one of three teams tasked with cross-team common objectives.
* To ensure that the company maintains the goal of a safe and compliant factory.
* To organise the departmental resources to meet output and quality requirements.
* To ensure that the Production Operators on shift are carrying out job functions in a correct and safe manner and perform regular audits.
* To ensure that necessary safety checks are carried out and documented.
* To assist, create and implement SOP’s, SSOW’s and OPL’s. To deliver TBT’s when necessary.
* Create and deliver training plan to increase skill set throughout shift.
* To assist the Manufacturing Manager in the monitoring of production and scrap output.
To aid in communication between Production Operators, Engineers, Technical Operators, Warehouse and DC operators, etc in achieving company goals.

Experience:
* Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
* Experience in dealing with people and building teams, including handling performance, absence and conduct issues.
* Previous experience in a supervisory/management role.
* General understanding of ISO9001 and ISO14001.
* Understanding and practical experience of Lean techniques (specifically 5S, TPM, SUR (SMED), Standard Work and Visual Management)
* Understanding of and experienced in the use of Quality Management and Improvement tools (ideally RCA and Error Proofing but not essential)
Qualifications:
Health and Safety Qualification, IOSH, NEBOSH (desirable).
Skills and Knowledge:
* Knowledge of production processes
* Knowledge of start/stop; set-up and changeover procedures
* Knowledge of Injection Moulding, Blown Film, Compounding (desirable but not essentiall)
* Basic Trouble-shooting and fault-finding skills
* IT skills, ideally knowledge of time and attendance systems
