Position – Senior Nurse RNLD/RNMH or RGN with experience or willing to work towards further training (Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs)

Location – Holywell

Contract Type – Permanent 42 hours per week on a rota basis, 12 hour shifts 3 on 3 off which will include nights and weekends

Salary Per Hour –£42,000-£44,520 per annum

Requirements – Experience in working with individuals with a Learning Disability and Mental Health issues and a valid PIN. Able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information, demonstrate empathy and interest in staff and patients.

About us

My client is a purpose built service in the heart of the community of Holywell who support men aged 18 plus who have a diagnosis of borderline to moderate learning disabilities, who may have co-existing secondary conditions such as complex and/or mental health needs and Autism.

My client provides nursing care for up to 10 men who are looking to step down from acute services or step up from community based services.

About the Role:

Under supervision of Senior Management, the successfully appointed Senior Staff Nurse will provide a range of assistance with the key tasks that enable people to maintain an independent and ordinary lifestyle wherever possible.

The post holder will ensure a high standard of nursing input in the application of clinical procedures, including risk assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation, medication management, physical investigations and implementation of Person Centred Care.

As a senior staff nurse, you would liaise with the Home and Deputy Home Manager to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care, in line with national, local and Company policy, through supervision of junior staff and audit processes.

The successfully appointed senior staff nurse will also be required to undertake RCA, accident reports, CIW notifications, Safeguarding, Complaints, Investigations and incident review as required by the management team.

The ideal candidate for this post will have experience in working with individuals with a Learning Disability and mental health issues, possess experience in being a named nurse, writing care plans and risk management plans and for preceptorship nurses willing to undertake the preceptorship package. Within this role you will need an understanding of person centred care, positive behaviour support, active support, team working, personal development, medication procedures, safeguarding policies and procedures, motivation skills, be self-motivated, flexible and organised
