Purchasing Officer / Manager

Full Time Permanent

Adele Carr are recruiting for a Flint based client to recruit for a Purchasing Officer to join on a full time and permanent basis. This long-established manufacturing company are market leaders in their field and have had a strong period of growth over the last 3 years.

The successful candidate will report directly into the leadership team and join a 50 year old family run business with an exceptional reputation and client base across the UK. The Purchasing Officer role currently has no direct reports but there is huge progression opportunities as the team grows.

We are searching for a candidate with experience in a senior purchasing role, the successful candidate will join a newly created role and be the sole purchasing contact within the business.

Salary & Benefits:

£30,000-£40,000 – Negotiable depending on experience – Happy to discuss.
Working hours of Monday – Friday; 9AM – 5PM
Office based at head office in Flint

Liaison with approx. 45 existing suppliers (UK & Europe based)
Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure the company operational needs are met.
Push for improved supplier provision while challenge supplier costings and lead times
Maintain accurate supplier pricing.
Monitor stock levels ensuring adequate supply of materials to maintain productivity.
Monitor re-order levels In line with demand fluctuations.
Mitigate and reduce any potential supply risk.
Review supplier performance.
Stock forecasting.
Work closely with our product development team.
Build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, suppliers and stakeholdersWhat we are looking for:

A candidate that has an understanding of the whole purchasing function who has worked as a Purchasing Officer / Management role previously.

Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise duties.
Commercially and financially aware and have a good understanding of how failure to supply can impact the reputation of the company.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Problem solving, forward thinking and proactive attitude
Team player but able to work independently
Computer Literate – Microsoft office packages, MRP systems, Sage Line 50
