Procurement Analyst

The responsibility of the Procurement Analyst is to effectively provide management information to the procurement, commercial, and finance teams. To effectively manage both internal and external data provision, forecasting, and budget information and insight.

I've partnered with a multi-national food manufactring business which supply high quality goods to the biggest supermarkets in the UK.

The Procurement Analyst is a hybrid working position which will be based out of the Wrexham office.


The Procurement Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

To ensure the database on products, suppliers, customers, prices, costs, volumes, values, market information, budgets, forecasts, and contracts is accurate and timely.
To manage the data effectively to produce management information on procurement and sales, including commodity performance reports, PPV analysis, forecast analysis, spend analytics.
To report weekly and monthly as required on PPV, supplier payment terms, supplier rebates, contract cover, and price forecasts.
To co-ordinate the monthly update of the price forecast, liaising with the commercial team on the volume forecast and using this information to create a PPV forecast.
To co-ordinate and create the procurement budget for raw materials and packaging items in order to create standard pricing for the following financial year.
To be the 'super-user' for all relevant systems and processes and to train colleagues on their use and adoption, including Mintec and IBM TM1.
To be responsible for all management information from the procurement teams and be the single point of contact for all information supplied to customers regarding the volume and value of goods supplied into the business.
To support the site finance teams with management of costings and models providing effective information between OM and its' customers where appropriate.
To provide ad hoc reports and analysis as may be required.
To create and manage strategic supplier dashboards within the IBM TM1 system.
To create a monthly slide deck for the business reporting various procurement information such as performance, market forecasts, and contract cover.
To provide supplier management, specification, supplier quality assurance information and analysis to complement the commercial management information.
To provide governance on the contract and payment terms databases, and maintain accurate records of obligations to support the procurement team.
To provide insight on supplier sustainability, through effective use of credit reporting tools such as Creditsafe, and provide an early warning system to prevent disruption from potential supplier failures.
To provide modelling and forecasting to provide insight into the impact of price volume and mix changes on the procurement activity of Oscar Mayer.
To provide management information to support our indirect procurement activity liaising with the stakeholders across the group.
To identify opportunities to improve current ways of working, propose new ideas, and implement new processes.Profile

The successful candidate for the Procurement Analyst will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:

Previous experience in a similar procurement role
Highly numerate and analytical
Personable and engaging, team player, confident
Highly IT Literate, high level Excel skills, database skills will be required and familiarity with System 21, and TM1 or other ERP and data cube applications would be advantageous,
Good communications skills and the ability to co-ordinate complex tasks across multiple stakeholders
Good business and commercial background ideally in food or FMCG
Strong "customer service" attitude in a fast-paced business
Flexible attitude to work, and the business needs.
Inquisitive and challenging with the ability to provide insight.Job Offer
