Vacancy Overview
We are currently supporting a leading global manufacturer, recruit a Plant Buyer to autonomously lead all procurement activity at the Plant. Also, to build and maintain strong relationships across the wider business and with external parties. To ensure procurement procedures are followed and maintained.
Key responsibilities:
Autonomously lead all procurement activity at the Plant with support when required
Accurately schedule and manage the supply of specific raw materials, services and spare parts to meet production requirements and optimal stock levels
Reviewing the inbound logistic cost for all materials (local and central) to optimise the TCO
Support the Materials Planner in ensuring packaging levels (may include pallets, labels and other materials) are optimised to support Plant production requirements
Management of site contracts (including maintenance agreements, service level agreements and supplier agreements)
Support operations department in procurement of external warehousing for finished goods as required
Contribution to purchase specification process and lead commercial aspects including contractual elements and performance levels
Managing tender process including preparation / issue of requests for quotes, appraisal of supplier offers and negotiations
Progressing and expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery OTIF (on time, in full)
Creation and maintenance of relevant SAP records e.g. spares min / max, source lists, master data, pricing updates
To ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures
Engage and play an active role in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives at plant, function and company level
Candidate overview:
Experience of pre and post tender procurement activities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work autonomously, quickly, accurately and to tight deadlines
P2P & E-procurement experience
Highly experienced in the use of SAP MM
Positive attitude to change
Attained or working towards CIPS accreditation
Proactive and creative in finding solutions that will positively impact the organisation
High level of experience in managing stock levels for production materials
