Location: Chester, with some national travel
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 dependent on experience

Our client has a new opportunity open for a Senior Auditor to join them in ensuring compliance across the firm. You'll be working for a well established legal finance company situated just outside Chester, who's top values include ensuring excellent quality of service to their clients, and always striving to "do the right thing". They're looking for someone ambitious, meticulous and dedicated to getting things right – someone who wants to grow the business and support it's continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing:
Overall responsibility for the reviewing and auditing compliance of financial case files
Assist the Head of Consumer in developing a strategic approach to Risk & Compliance for the business
Ensure all regulatory, operational and conduct risks are identified, assessed and have the appropriate monitoring controls
Draft monitoring terms of reference, test scripts and resultant reports in relation to compliance activity
Improve own performance through continuous learning of regulatory requirements and guidance
Provide weekly activity updates as per planned objectives to the Head of Compliance
Continually assess and recommend changes to compliance policies where applicable
The experience you'll need:
Current and actively maintained knowledge of the regulatory environment
Experience managing case files in a law firm at a senior level is essential
Experience of auditing / reviewing files, particularly in consumer credit or litigation funding area – strongly preferred
Ability to work under high pressure
Experience in a risk / compliance field – professional certification strongly preferred
Working knowledge of the SRA handbook
A level of business acumen that enables a commercially sensitive approach, whilst managing regulatory risks
Strong influencing skills and ability to sell the benefits of risk and regulatory risk management practices to ensure that appropriate but commercially aware action is taken in the business
A level of gravitas that enables support, guidance and challenge of senior leaders in the business
