Our client is currently looking for an Export Executive to be responsible for their International Trade Coordination., ensuring that the shipment of goods proceeds effectively. This will include ensuring that all legal obligations are met, including compliance with the AEO standard and compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws whilst supporting good governance, compliance & effective administration of the business.
Duties:-
* Dealing with payment methods such as letters of credit, documentary presentations and open account and documents such as bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, GSP and standard shipping notes
* Accurate and timely completion of necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities accurately logging with HMRC
* Maintaining knowledge of and advising on all relevant import/export law and procedures, tariffs and duties, licenses and restrictions
* To be main point of contact for international trade queries and requests for information
* Check correct import duty and import VAT has been calculated and paid correctly by the freight agencies acting on our behalf
* Advising on VAT/ duty responsibilities in European countries and ensuring compliance in those areas
* Collaborate with suppliers, forwarders and agents to acquire up to date shipment information
* Provide appropriate monthly reporting of import/ export transactions and any HMRC required submissions
* Produce customer / country specific documents which are compliant with contractual requirements
* Ensure that all shipping documentation is correct and compliant
Person Specification:-
* Ideally you will have a recognised import/export qualification along with experience in a similar import/export role (qualification is not essential)
* A well-developed understanding of HMRC rules and must be familiar with the legal requirements regarding importing and exporting shipments including the understanding of the role of freight forwarders
* Ideally knowledge of AEO accreditation and responsibilities (not essential)
* Ideally some exposure to Brexit planning and proceedures
