Environmental Manager

Full Time Permanent

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Manager to work for an established Waste management company. As Environmental Manager you’ll be responsible for ensuring the environmental compliance of the business and in-particular their waste recycling operations.

Working closely with Recycling Controllers and the Operations team you will;

* Identify and prepare environmental permit/deployments or exemptions that are required and manage the deployment process.

* Lead the implementation of Environmental Policies and practices across the business including training colleagues

* Maintain and develop environmental management systems to help improve efficiencies.

* Support the Sales team and Recycling Controllers with technical and environmental queries to ensure compliance with Environmental Permits and other applicable legislation.

* Respond to environmental incidents and non-conformances ensuring incidents are dealt with, logged, investigated and reported to senior managers in a timely manner.

* Monitor the company recycling operations and carry out regular site inspections/audits to monitor compliance.

* Collate information and produce customer reports and quarterly waste returns.

* Assist with the management and development of quality management system.

* Maintain records as necessary to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures and contract requirements.

* Train staff in Environmental issues and responsibilities.

* Review environmental sustainability and incident statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

* Provide technical input to marketing materials for recycled products.

* Monitor soil/waste analysis requirements and arrange samples/analysis as required

Ideally you will hold a current WAMITAB qualification and/or be FACTS trained and have an understanding of agriculture, fertilisers or the waste to land recycling, although additional training and development is available for the right candidate.
