EHS Engineer – Process Safety – Chemical

Full Time Permanent

We exclusively represent a multinational manufacturer in the search for an accomplished Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Engineer to help implement, support and advise on all HSE projects and programmes on a diverse, technically complex and high hazard manufacturing facility based in North Wales.

This progressive manufacturer seeks to recruit a qualified and technically competent HSE Engineer to support the site in continuous improvement, to develop and sustain ‘world class’ levels of HSE behaviours and culture, providing expertise in best practice and compliance around HSE and process safety

The incumbent will act as a lead on process safety inspections and hazard analysis including mechanical hazard analysis, and review safety critical equipment, and chemical safety and inventory management. This role also presents the opportunity for involvement in health and safety, accident investigations and risk assessments, audits and training, HSE improvement projects concerning both people and process.

Key skills

* Ideally technically qualified – either engineering or science discipline – chemical engineering or chemistry would be ideal

* Process safety experience (HAZOP) and technically competent to effectively lead process hazard analysis activities (PHA)

* Experience within a ‘high risk’ manufacturing environment

* COSHH, chemical safety, inventory management

* Experience working with an organisation with a strong safety culture, and good evidence of a modern and progressive approach to SHE

* Previous experience in root cause problem solving and leading root cause analysis investigations with multifunctional teams

* Sound knowledge of all current UK Health and Safety

* Ability to enthuse and engage others on all things Health and Safety related

* A NEBOSH or auditing (ISO) qualification would be of distinct advantage (14001, 18001, 45001)

* Excellent IT and report writing/presentation skills
