Our client are a well-respected contractor working nationally across the whole of the UK. As a group they are a nationally recognised organisation based originally out of their Northern office supported by regional offices throughout the UK. They operate in the new build student accommodation, high rise residential apartments and new build housing sectors. They are a multi-million pound turnover group and a leader in their sectors of the construction industry.
Due to their ongoing and increasing portfolio of work, they now have a requirement for an Assistant Design/Technical Manager or Junior Design Coordinator to join their team. The role based initially out of their St Asaph based office but with occasional national travel to projects and occasional stopping away to be expected but on an ad-hoc basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual from an Architecture Technician, Civil or Structural Engineer background to achieve the next step in their career with the support and structured career development – towards Design Management – which a contractor of this size can offer to a motivated and ambitious individual.
Role Purpose
To assist the Design Managers on one or more projects, providing support on all aspects the design process for typically high-rise mixed use developments, throughout the UK.
This is an important role within wider group and, working with colleagues, provides vital support to construction teams.
The role also provides an opportunity to build on existing knowledge and skills through practical activities, whilst delivering real results and part of a small but close-knit technical team.
About You
This role would suit a highly organised individual who has excellent building / construction knowledge and a technical (architectural, Structural or Civil) background. Confident liaising with Architects, Local Authorities, Management Teams and Sub-Contractors, you will have strong communication skills and be able to effectively participate and occasionally lead in meetings.
