Our client based in the Corwen area is currently recruiting for a Deputy Shift Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Shift Manager as the Deputy Shift Manager you will run the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager, ensuring a safe environment with the factory performance targets of output, labour utilisation, waste and product quality are continuously achieved and recorded. When the Shift Manager is present you will provide additional support to them as required as well as assuming a hands on leader role.

Performance Objectives

* Stand-In Manager running the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager for their assigned shift (from time to time, there may be a requirement to cover different shifts/Shift Managers).

* Supervise the smooth running of the shift, being the point of contact for all management enquiries

* Ensure that the FBL achieves the production plan with the best possible quality of bar minimising giveaway, waste and labour

* Oversee the FBL packing operation ensuring that the product is correctly labelled and efficiently packaged according to the agreed standard and all documents are completed correctly

* Record and assess the FBL OEE ensuring that machine availability and performance are maximised, rework is minimal and recommend improvements where identified

* Manage the team ensuring that the plan is efficiently achieved minimising giveaway, waste, underweights and labour

* Oversee the packing operation ensuring that the product is correctly labelled and efficiently packaged according to the agreed standard and all documents are completed correctly

* Complete the attendance sheet for the shift, marking down the arrival times and departure times of each individual and any stand in’s/uplifts in responsibility

* Manage and support all of the staff on the shift

* Conduct return to work interviews

* Complete all production reports including the electronic shift report and giveaway/downtime

* Ensure a safe working area for all staff

* When the Shift Manager is present, provide any additional supervisory support that they require and assume a leader role in this shift.
