Continuous Improvement Engineer

Full Time Permanent

ORB Recruitment are currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our well established and growing company that is a market leading manufacturing business who supply into the construction and engineering industries in the UK and abroad and offer an innovative construction solution to a broad range of construction sectors.
Due to continued natural growth within their UK region, we are delighted to offer this new Continuous Improvement Engineer position that will work alongside the manufacturing, purchasing and sales order processing teams based out of their Deeside facility (some travel in the UK or overseas may be required).
Main Responsibilities Include:

Working with a variety of operational teams including manufacturing, purchasing and sales order processing using a variety of tools such as VSM and operational KPI’s to identify opportunities for improvement, eliminate waste and simplify our value streams.
Applying Lean principles using techniques such as Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, 5 Whys, Problem Solving and visual management etc. to implement and sustain improvement activities.
Plan, organise and schedule improvement projects to run alongside production with minimal impact
Training, coaching and mentoring project and production teams to promote and instil Lean philosophy, provide project leadership, coaching and lasting performance improvement
Facilitate change by maintaining excellent two-way communication with employees collectively via regular team briefings.
Tracking and documenting all improvements to evaluate their effectiveness and benefit, ensure sustainability and communicate results to enable approach to be leveraged in other areas.
Gathering and analysing accurate information to facilitate effective decision-making.
Initiating capex proposals to support change from concept through feasibility to implementation.
Promoting customer service excellence at all times.
Ensuring and promoting compliance with all required Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality systems and procedures.   
Required Experience:

Certified Green Belt (or equivalent) in Lean Six Sigma.
A successful track record of operational change and improvements using Lean Six Sigma.
Ability to lead and support multiple projects concurrently.
Hands on ability to coach and train others in Lean tools and techniques.
Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment.
Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
Excellent planning and time management skills.
A self-motivated problem solver.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
Possess excellent H&S awareness.
Full UK driving licence.
Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and forming processes (desirable)
Intermediate / Advanced CAD skills (AutoCAD / Draftsite) (desirable)
Knowledge of Infor M3 and/or SAP S/4Hana in a production environment. (desirable)
