Draig recruitment is recruiting full-time and part-time Teaching Assistants on behalf of a mainstream primary school in Rhyl. This is a warm and welcoming, community-based school who cater for children with a variety of additional learning needs; autism, complex needs, severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties. Ideal applicants would be those who have experience in support work, care, nursing background or special needs teaching assistants.

If you can build rapport and trusting relationships, this role might be for you!

The hours of work are 8:45-3:15 pm between Monday and Friday. Starts asap. Pays £75 per day.This role is to go permanent after 12 weeks.

To be considered for this role you will need:

* Experience of supporting children or young people with autism and severe learning difficulties.

* Manage complex behaviour and social anxiety

* Be supportive, patient, sensitive and nurturing

* Experience in personal care, dressing, toileting

* Experience in manual handling, hoists

* Ideally experience using Makaton, or Basic sign language – not essential

* Hold a level 1 or above in Health & Social Care, Childcare qualification ideal

Additional requirements:

* Eligibility to work in the UK

* References confirming suitability for role

* Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willing to apply

* EWC registration or willing to apply

* Safeguarding training or willing to take a free course with us
