BIM / CAD Technician

To support our clients implementation of BIM processes at a Tender Project Level by:

Producing and/or amending information and graphical drawings/models in accordance with the client or HTUK standard methods and procedures.

Supporting the Project team in delivering beneficial outputs from the Information model (i.e.space proofing, clash detection, 4D schedules, Quantity take-offs, still images)

Preparing models and drawings to demonstrate the viability of the design and construction proposals.

Supporting the BIM Manager and Coordinator in executing the successful delivery of a BIM Project including BIM Execution Plans.

3. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

3.1.1 Creating files 2D/3D and ensuring the appropriate file attributes are captured correctly.

3.1.2 Producing and/or amending information in accordance with the Project SMP.

3.1.3 Ensuring graphical models (which they produce) are spatially coordinated (clash avoidance); escalating any interface issues to the BIM Coordinator I BIM manager/ Design Manager.

3.1.4 Ensuring all elements of the Information Model are fully coordinated with each other.

3.1.5 Creating the federated models and clash detection reports.

3.1.6 Submitting information for approval in accordance with the TIDP.

4. ADDITIONAL DUTIES

4.1 Supporting and deputising for the BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager, where required and appropriate.

4.2 Undertaking appropriate works requested by the BIM Development Manager for the benefit of the wider company.

4.3 Any other duties consistent with your discipline, status and seniority, as necessary to meet the needs of the Business of the Company.

4.4 Carry out duties for collaborative working in line with the clients Procedure for Collaborative Working and the JRMP (Joint Relationship Management Plan)

5. KEY SAFETY, QUALITY and ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1 Understand the health, safety and welfare principles of setting up safe worksites when preparing site layout plans.

5.2 Consider and comment on health, safety or welfare issues identified within drawings or models they are working on and ensure SHE issues are coordinated across models and drawings

5.3 Please see separate individual responsibilities for Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) matters attached.

5.4 Ensure drawings and models are prepared in accordance with stated QA standards

5.5 Ensure quality of data and information is in accordance with stated standards

5.6 Ensure environmental impacts and aspects are adequately considered within the drawings and models produced

5.7 Ensure sustainability issues are stated on the drawings including biodiversity and carbon emissions

6. REQUIRED PROJECT KNOWLEDGE

6.1 knowledge of construction activities and infrastructure projects.

6.2 Applied knowledge of BS/PAS/ISO and their processes.

6.3 Knowledge of infrastructure design processes.

6.4 Identify, interpret and apply required industry/ client/ internal CAD/BIM standards.

6.4.1 Project delivery using the core 2D/3D CAD applications of AutoCAD with knowledge of Bentley systems.

7. AUTHORITY LIMITS
