Y swydd

Cartref preswyl therapiwtig gyda phum ystafell wely i blant a phobl ifanc rhwng 8 a 18 oed yw Gwasanaeth Preswyl Tan y Bryn yn y Rhyl. Rydym yn darparu gofal a chymorth i blant a phobl ifanc sy'n debygol o fod wedi profi trawma yn ystod blynyddoedd cynnar eu plentyndod. Efallai eu bod yn dioddef o ddiffyg hunanhyder, gorbryder, iselder a heb fawr o sgiliau cyfathrebu a all arwain at ymddygiad sy'n tarfu ar eraill.

Fel Gweithiwr Preswyl Cynorthwyol byddwch yn helpu'r tîm i ddarparu amgylchedd diogel, ysgogol, llawn hwyl a gofalgar, ac yn cynorthwyo'r plant gyda thasgau yn y cartref a phob agwedd ar eu gofal.

Oriau gwaith y swydd yw 37 awr yr wythnos, ar ffurf sifftiau rhwng 10am a 10.30pm, gan gynnwys cysgu dros nos.

Mae'n golygu gweithio ar benwythnosau, ar sail rota.

Byddwch yn gwneud gwahaniaeth drwy:

-Weithio'n therapiwtig i gynorthwyo pobl ifanc i ymdopi â thrawma y blynyddoedd cynnar.

-Rhoi cartref cynnes, diogel a chefnogol i'r plant.

-Cynorthwyo'r bobl ifanc gyda gwahanol agweddau ar eu bywyd gan gynnwys cysylltiadau, addysg, therapi, diddordebau, hyrwyddo gweithgareddau a choginio prydau bwyd.

-Bod yn gyfrifol am iechyd a diogelwch.

-Bod yn gyfrifol am ddiogelu pobl ifanc.

Bydd angen:

-FfCCh Lefel 3 mewn Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol, neu fod yn barod i weithio tuag at y cymhwyster hwnnw.

-Profiad o weithio mewn lleoliad preswyl i blant a phobl ifanc.

-Y gallu i fod yn hyblyg er mwyn gweithio fel rhan o dîm ar sail rota.

-Cymhelliant ac egni i gynorthwyo pobl ifanc i gymryd rhan mewn gweithgareddau ac i fynd i'r ysgol.

-Sgiliau cyfathrebu da.

-Gwybodaeth dda am TG ac yn gallu ei defnyddio'n hyderus.

-Gwybodaeth dda am Ddiogelu a chadw pobl ifanc yn ddiogel.

-Mae'r gallu i siarad Cymraeg yn ddymunol ond nid yw'n hanfodol.

-Tystysgrif gofrestru gyda Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru

-Trwydded yrru a char gan fod teithio i'r ysgol ac ymweld â theulu agos yn rhan o'r swydd.

Giving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.

The role

Our Tan Y Bryn Residential Service in Rhyl is a five-bedded therapeutic residential home for children and young people between the ages of 8-18 years. We provide care and support for children and young people who have likely experienced early childhood trauma. They may experience severe Low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and have poor communication skills which can lead to disruptive behaviours.

As an Assistant Residential Worker you'll help the team provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care.

The role is working 37 hours a week, shifts 10am – 10.30pm involving a sleep-in.

Weekends included, on a Rota basis.

You will make a difference by:

-Working therapeutically to support young people through early life trauma.

-Giving the children a warm, safe, and nurturing home.

-Supporting the young people with aspects of their life including contacts, education, Therapy, and hobbies, facilitating activities, and cooking meals.

-Being accountable for health and safety.

-Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people.

You will need:

-QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.

-Experience of working in a residential setting for children and young people.

-Flexibility to work as part of a team on a rota basis.

-Motivation and energy to support young people to take part in activities and attend Education.

-Good communication skills.

-Good knowledge of IT and ability to work confidently using it.

-Good Knowledge of Safeguarding and keeping young people safe.

-Ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.

-Registration with Social Care Wales

-Driving licence and car as the role will include School runs, and family contact visits.
