Role Title: Animal Practitioner
Location: Northop
Contract Type: Part Time (4 days per week – 29.6 hours) – Fixed Term (30/06/2021)
Salary: £26,201 pro rata
Here at Coleg Cambria we are looking for an Animal Practitioner to join the team within our Animal Centre based at our Northop site.
Overview of Role
In your role as an Animal Practitioner, your main responsibility will be to deliver formal scheduled practical sessions direct to the learner groups you are responsible for. You will be required to prepare a schedule of practical learning and assessment activities that will engage your students.
Within your new role, you will be required to monitor the overall progress of each learner in terms of the progress they are making towards their chosen qualification, as well as assessing their competence, attendance, punctuality, initiating action as and when required.
You will be required to address, plan and deliver underpinning vocational knowledge requirements as appropriate including other college priorities, such as integrating English, Maths and Prevent.
Within the Animal care team, we work with a wide range of animals including reptiles, rodents, farm animals, poultry, birds, aquatics and amphibians and inverts. As part of this role there will be a requirement for you to take responsibility for the care and wellbeing of the animals, therefore you would need to have some experience of working with these breeds.
Requirements
Qualified to a least Level 4 within a relevant subject area,
Recent relevant industry experience
Ideally you will possess or be working towards an internal quality assessment qualification, and a teaching and learning qualification.
Experience of delivering City and Guilds technical qualifications would be highly advantageous, as well as experience of working with learners with additional learning needs.
Competent user of IT packages including Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
